StarKid return to the West End with Nerdy Prudes Must Die at the Apollo

Key art for Nerdy Prudes Must Die at the Apollo Theatre StarKid bring Nerdy Prudes Must Die to the Apollo Theatre for five weeks from February 2027, with the entire original company crossing the Atlantic to play it.

StarKid are coming back to the West End. Nerdy Prudes Must Die plays the Apollo Theatre from Saturday 6 February to Sunday 7 March 2027, a strictly limited five-week run presented by Lambert Jackson and StarKid.

It is the company’s second season at that address in a year, following the sell-out run of The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals, and the draw is the same: the original American company is coming with it rather than being recast in London.

The Hatchetfield company

Will Branner plays Max Jägerman, with Mariah Rose Faith Casillas as Steph Lauter, Bryce Charles as Detective Shapiro, Corey Dorris as Mayor Lauter, Angela Giarratana as Grace Chasity, Lauren Lopez as Ruth Fleming, Jon Matteson as Richie Lipschitz, Curt Mega as Officer Bailey, Joey Richter as Peter Spankoffski and Kim Whalen as Miss Mulberry.

The book is by Nick Lang and Matt Lang, with music and lyrics by Jeff Blim. Lauren Lopez directs and choreographs as well as appearing in it.

What it is

The premise is a horror comedy set at Hatchetfield High, where the school’s least popular pupils manage to wake an ancient and murderous spirit, and the body count starts. It belongs to the same Hatchetfield universe StarKid have been building online for years, which is why a company with no West End profile in the conventional sense can fill a Shaftesbury Avenue house: the audience arrives already fluent.

Tickets start at £28.75. The age guidance is 14+, and the production carries warnings for flashing lights, haze, gunshot sounds, simulated violence including blood and gore, sexual content and adult language.

Nerdy Prudes Must Die runs at the Apollo Theatre from 6 February to 7 March 2027.
