Paddington The Musical now takes bookings at the Savoy Theatre up to 25 June 2028, four months beyond its previous closing date, as a new West End company settles into the show.
Paddington The Musical has pushed its run at the Savoy Theatre on to 25 June 2028. Until today the booking period stopped at 13 February 2028. The producers put the extension down to demand, and say the best availability for West End seats now starts in summer 2027.
The news comes as the show approaches its first birthday in the West End, and a day after its second company began performances on 28 October. Abbie Purvis and Hassan Taj now share the role of the on-stage Paddington, with Sonny Monaghan as Young Man and as the voice and remote puppeteer of the bear. Freya Rose understudies the on-stage Paddington.
The Browns are Haydn Oakley and Charlotte Wakefield, with Linzi Hateley as Mrs Bird and Cassidy Janson as the villainous Millicent Clyde. Marc Pickering plays Mr Curry, Samantha Bingley is Lady Sloane, Sandra Marvin is Tanya and Alex Crandon is Hank the Pigeon. Two faces carry over from the first year: Tarinn Callender as Grant and Teddy Kempner as Mr Gruber. The children who alternate as Judy, Jonathan and Tony, and the full ensemble, are listed in our report on the new company.
Behind it are Tom Fletcher (music and lyrics), Jessica Swale (book) and director Luke Sheppard, working from Michael Bond's A Bear Called Paddington and the 2014 film. The production won seven Olivier Awards, level with the record for a musical, nine WhatsOnStage Awards and the Critics' Circle Award for Best New Musical. The bear travels next: Broadway gets its own production at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in March 2027, followed by Sydney's Capitol Theatre in September 2027.
A practical note for families: the show is recommended for ages 6 and up, and there are matinees on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 2pm. Tickets start at £25.
Paddington The Musical is booking at the Savoy Theatre until 25 June 2028.
