Linus Karp's Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story is heading to New York. The London company Awkward Prods takes it to the Main Stage at SoHo Playhouse from 2-13 December 2026.
It is a return trip for the drag comedy. The off-Broadway venue has already sold out earlier runs of Diana and of the company's follow-up, Gwyneth Goes Skiing. The show started out at the Edinburgh Fringe and has toured the UK since. Before it crosses the Atlantic, it plays The Lowry in Salford on 14 November and Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff on 19 November.
Karp wrote it and plays the princess, who tells her life story from heaven, and co-directs with Joseph Martin. Expect drag, puppetry, projections and a fair amount of audience participation, with the facts strictly optional. It runs 75 minutes and is recommended for ages 16 and over.
Several familiar faces join on screen. Rob Madge, whose My Son's a Queer (But What Can You Do?) transferred to the West End, appears as Mother Teresa. Jeanna de Waal, who led the 2021 Broadway musical Diana, also features, alongside Zina Badran, Geri Allen and Martin.
Awkward Prods then stays at SoHo Playhouse for Christmas with The (Very Gay) Christmas Prince, from 16 December 2026 to 3 January 2027. Karp and Martin wrote it and star in it: a send-up of festive TV romances, set in the made-up kingdom of Swedonia.
SoHo Playhouse is at 15 Vandam Street, New York, and performances of Diana are listed at 5pm and 9pm.
