The first trailer is out for Thelma & Louise, the new musical from Callie Khouri and Neko Case, midway through its world premiere run at the Young Vic.
The Young Vic has put out the first video trailer for Thelma & Louise. The world premiere musical plays the theatre's Main House until Saturday 24 October 2026.
Callie Khouri has turned her own Oscar-winning screenplay into the book. Neko Case wrote the music and lyrics. Trip Cullman directs. More than thirty years on from the film, the road is the same: two friends head off for a weekend, one night at a roadside bar turns them into fugitives, and neither will turn back.
The trailer, cut by Mann Bros, went up on the theatre's YouTube channel this morning. Amy Lennox and Rachel Tucker lead as the two women on the run.
Lennox plays Thelma and Tucker plays Louise. With them are Trevor Dion Nicholas as Hal, Jordan Luke Gage as JD, Samuel Edwards as Darryl, Alex Gibson-Giorgio as Jimmy, Letitia Hector as Sarah, Tamlyn Henderson as Harlan / Max and Jack Butterworth as Trooper / Singer. The ensemble is Suzie McAdam, Eleanor Walsh, Alex Given, Kamilla Fernandes, Rushand Chambers and Joshua Dever.
Choreography is by Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber, scenography by Christine Jones and Brett J. Banakis. Ryan Dawson Laight designs costumes, Natasha Chivers lighting and Gareth Owen sound. Kimberly Grigsby is musical supervisor, John Clancy does orchestrations and arrangements, and Ed Bussey is musical director. Wigs, hair and make-up are by Carole Hancock, with additional music by Carl Newman, Paul Rigby and Zoe Sarnak.

Performances are Monday to Saturday at 7.30pm, with 2.30pm matinees on Wednesday and Saturday. Still to come: captioned shows on 3 October (2.30pm) and 8 October (7.30pm), relaxed performances on 3 October (2.30pm) and 7 October (7.30pm), a BSL-interpreted show on 9 October (7.30pm) and an audio-described matinee on 10 October (2.30pm, touch tour 1pm).
