Jenna Bonner moves up from first cover to play Andy Sachs, the role she has been covering in the company. We reported the promotion earlier this week, and the production has now confirmed it as part of the full casting. Bonner's credits include Tina The Musical.
The other internal move goes to Dean Makowski-Clayton, who has been playing Irv Ravitz and now takes on Nate, the boyfriend left holding the dinner. Makowski-Clayton's credits include Marie Curie, A New Musical.
Two members of the company stay where they are. Taila Halford continues as first assistant Emily, with credits including Shucked, and Dominic Andersen continues as Christian, whose credits include Heathers The Musical.
Above them the billing is as already announced. Teri Hatcher plays Miranda Priestly and Matt Henry MBE plays her right hand, Nigel; Hatcher's casting was announced earlier this month. Henry's credits include Kinky Boots and The Drifters Girl. Debbie Kurup continues as first standby Miranda Priestly and plays the part full time from 21 September to 20 October 2026, until Hatcher steps into the shoes; Kurup's credits include The Bodyguard and The Cher Show.
The ensemble is Jak Allen-Anderson, Georgia Aspinall, Anta Bah, Evonnee Bentley-Holder, Teagan Denham, Russell Dickson, Eve Drysdale, Selina Hamilton, Helen Hill, Kimberley Hoyle, Emma Johnson, Justin-Lee Jones, Mark Lamb, Ethan Le Phong, Zixi Li, Shannon Molloy, Jacob Morrish, Nay-Nay, Eddylia Osborne, David Peter Brown, Theo UK Rose, João Silva, Ellie Stevens, Maisy Stones, Kayleigh Thadani, Hannah Victoria-Bennett and Alex Woodward.
What that company walks into is a wardrobe rather than a set. Tony Award-winning costume designer Gregg Barnes, whose work includes Aladdin, Kinky Boots and Legally Blonde, dresses the Runway world in hundreds of handmade pieces alongside sourced vintage and second-hand garments, with Dior, Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and Balmain all on stage. The British footwear label Terry de Havilland, whose founder made shoes for Elton John, has supplied more than 80 pairs.
The numbers behind it are their own kind of spectacle. Miranda Priestly and Andy Sachs get through 11 costume changes each; the curtain call uses 680 grams of confetti a performance, which comes to 5.4 kilograms a week; and the deputy stage manager calls a cue every six seconds on average.
The show opened in the West End in December 2024 and has become the fastest-selling title in the Dominion's history, with more than 1.3 million tickets sold so far. It reached its 800th performance on 23 September. Its first original cast recording, released last year, includes two previously unheard Elton John demos and went in at number one on the compilations chart as the week's biggest new release.
Music is by Elton John, with new direction and choreography by Jerry Mitchell, lyrics by Shaina Taub and Mark Sonnenblick, book by Kate Wetherhead, set design by Tim Hatley, costume design by Gregg Barnes, lighting by Bruno Poet, sound by Gareth Owen and casting by Jill Green CDG. The musical is based on Lauren Weisberger's 2003 novel and the 2006 film, and it played at Theatre Royal Plymouth from 6 July to 17 August 2024 before reaching the West End. It is produced by Kevin McCollum, David Furnish and Jamie Wilson, in co-production with Theatre Royal Plymouth and by special arrangement with Buena Vista Theatrical.
The Devil Wears Prada The Musical runs at the Dominion Theatre until 25 September 2027, after the booking extension that covers 8 February to 25 September 2027. Performances are Monday to Saturday evenings at 19:30, with Wednesday and Saturday matinees at 14:30, and tickets start at £25. Groups of ten or more booking before 22 January 2027 pay £42.50 each for performances from 8 February 2027, education groups of ten or more pay £27.50 each with a free teacher ticket for every ten students, and family tickets start at £99.
