The first rehearsal pictures are out for My Fair Lady at Pitlochry Festival Theatre, where Alan Cumming plays Professor Henry Higgins opposite Verity Power's Eliza Doolittle from 21 November.
Lerner and Loewe's My Fair Lady opens at Pitlochry Festival Theatre on Saturday 21 November 2026, for a run to Thursday 31 December 2026. Maria Friedman directs. The first photographs from the rehearsal room are now out, taken by Chris Keatch.
Alan Cumming leads as Professor Henry Higgins, with Verity Power as Eliza Doolittle. Also pictured are Loren Anderson, Martin Ball, Mairi Barclay, Zachary Barlow, Daisy Barnett, C J Benoiton, Juliet Cadzow, Robert Donnelly, Alex James-Hatton, Reuben Khan, Julie Legrand, Alexander Newland, James Probert, Thomas Sutcliffe, Scott Waugh and Lizzie Wofford. The full company was confirmed earlier in October.
The production closes Cumming's first season as artistic director of Pitlochry Festival Theatre. The theatre presents it in association with Sonia Friedman Productions, with support from Pine Trees Hotel. Pitlochry has already begun unveiling its 2027 season.
Friedman, whose revival of Merrily We Roll Along won a Tony Award, works with designer Tim Hatley and choreographer Ashley Nottingham. Neil Austin lights the show. Joel Fram is musical supervisor and Ben Kubiak musical director, and the orchestrations are by Alexios Priftis. Casting is by Natalie Gallacher CDG for Pippa Ailion and Natalie Gallacher Casting.
The musical has its roots in George Bernard Shaw's 1913 play Pygmalion and Gabriel Pascal's film of it. A young flower seller is given lessons meant to lift her up the social ladder. Alan Jay Lerner wrote the book and lyrics, and Frederick Loewe the music. The first production, directed and staged by Moss Hart, reached Broadway in 1956, and the 1964 film version collected several Academy Awards.
Press night is Friday 27 November 2026 at 6pm. The theatre's own website currently lists every performance as sold out.
