The first production photographs of Wanted are out, and with them the first look at Bradley Jaden, a Javert familiar to a generation of West End audiences, in the role that marks his Broadway debut.
Bradley Jaden plays Jesse in Wanted, a new musical in previews at the James Earl Jones Theatre in New York since 15 October, ahead of an opening night on 8 November 2026. The pictures, taken by Julieta Cervantes, show him opposite Solea Pfeiffer and are the first chance for anyone this side of the Atlantic to see what the Brighton-born actor has gone to Broadway for.
London knows him chiefly from Les Misérables, in which he has played Javert in several separate stints at the Queen's Theatre and its renamed successor, the Sondheim Theatre, having earlier played Enjolras there. He was also Fiyero in Wicked at the Apollo Victoria, and Lancelot in Camelot at the London Palladium. He went to New York after playing Javert again in the arena tour of Les Misérables.
The show itself is a western with a family history behind it. Mary and Martha Clarke were Black twin sisters in 1890s Texas whose ability to pass as white let them live as outlaws without being found, and the story has come down through their descendants to Angelica Chéri, who wrote the book and lyrics. Ross Baum composed the score, Stevie Walker-Webb directs and Chelsey Arce is the choreographer. The piece was developed under the title Gun & Powder, with earlier stagings at Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey and Signature Theatre.
Solea Pfeiffer and Liisi LaFontaine lead the company as the sisters, Mary and Martha respectively, with Ledisi as Tallulah Clarke and Luke James as Elijah. Aurelia Williams (Sissy) and Awa Sal Secka (Flo) both return from those earlier productions. The rest of the Broadway company is listed in News From Broadway's report on the photographs.
No London production of Wanted has been announced, so there is nothing to book on this side of the Atlantic for now.
