Marc Brenner's first rehearsal photographs for Global Majority show Jeremy Ang Jones, Poppy Gilbert, Edward Baker-Duly and Cade Brannan at work on Chris Fung's new thriller, four weeks before it opens at the Bush Theatre.
A ring of black plastic chairs. A pale wooden room. One man standing in the middle of it all. That is how Marc Brenner's rehearsal pictures frame Global Majority, and it suits the play: Jeremy Ang Jones is Brian Tran, a candidate sitting an interview for the most powerful job on the planet, and every test he is set is harder than the last.
The camera stays close to him. In one frame he squares up to Cade Brannan, who plays Cotton Mather; in another, Poppy Gilbert, cast as Josephine Corwin, sits cross-legged on the floor in front of him. Edward Baker-Duly, who plays Jonathan Corwin, leans forward to make a point. The wide shot shows the full company in a loose circle, with director Rupert Hands on his feet in the middle, mid-note. Elsewhere Hands bends over a script with his lead, and writer Chris Fung works from behind a laptop at the production desk.
The pictures arrived with the Bush Theatre's confirmed cast list for the play. Our guide to Global Majority covers the production from plot to access performances.
Fung, who won the 2026 Tony Craze Award, has built the play as a thriller about family loyalty, secretive elites and what a person will give up to get near power. The script also earned him the Ilfeld Prize 2026. It is a co-production between Fun Guy Theatre, Gabriella Sills Productions and the Bush Theatre. Hands, whose directing credits include End of the Rainbow at Soho Theatre Walthamstow, stages it.
Ang Jones's stage work includes Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Palace Theatre and Titus Andronicus for the RSC. Gilbert played Desdemona in Othello at the Globe, and Baker-Duly's long list of credits runs from South Pacific at the National Theatre to The King and I on Broadway. Brannan trained at Mountview, and his credits include Hope This Helps at the Pleasance.
Behind the scenes, Peiyao Wang designs set and costumes, with lighting by Simeon Miller, sound by Kieran Lucas and video by Dave Anderson. Esther Burt is costume supervisor, Stuart Burt casts and Kev McCurdy directs the fights.
Global Majority runs at the Bush Theatre from Wednesday 25 November 2026 to Saturday 16 January 2027, with press night on Tuesday 1 December 2026 at 7pm. Evening shows start at 7.30pm and matinees at 2.30pm, and tickets cost from £15 to £45.
