Nadia Fall has filled the last four slots in the Young Vic’s 2026/27 season, and only one of them sits inside the theatre. General booking opens at 11am on 7 October.
The Young Vic has named the last four productions of its 2026/27 season, and only one of them will be staged inside the theatre’s own walls. Artistic director and chief executive Nadia Fall has added a one-night UK premiere at County Hall, a Kafka spectacle for the Maria, a satire from a disability-led company, and an immersive piece performed inside a shipping container parked on The Cut.
The headline event is The Pelicot Trial, the documentary theatre piece researched, written and directed by Milo Rau and Servane Dècle, which receives its UK premiere on 30 November 2026 in The Chamber at London County Hall, home of Agatha Christie’s Witness for the Prosecution. It plays once only, performed by a company of 30 actors and public figures, and is built from testimony, written accounts, police files, social commentary and psychiatric reports from the trial of the 51 men prosecuted in Gisèle Pelicot’s case.
In the Maria, A Hunger Artist runs 9-26 June 2027. Former Royal Ballet principal Edward Watson takes the title role opposite the international performance artist Meow Meow as the Impresario, in a staging of Kafka’s short story directed and choreographed by Arthur Pita with live music by Frank Moon. Two months earlier the same room takes What’s The F**king Point? from 2-24 April 2027, a dark satire on medical bureaucracy and identity politics from the disability-led company FlawBored, written by Samuel Brewer, Aarian Mehrabani, Chloe Palmer and Josh Roche, who also directs.
The fourth title never enters the building at all. DARKFIELD’s Eulogy is performed in complete darkness inside a shipping container stationed outside the theatre on The Cut from 24 March - 24 April 2027, using binaural sound and speech recognition technology to lead each audience member through a hotel that exists only in their own head.
Casting has moved on two Main House productions as well. Lashana Lynch leads the world premiere of dissent, written and directed by debbie tucker green, which runs from 5 March - 24 April 2027 with press night on 11 March 2027. Deanna H. Choi and Glyn Pritchard join Ben Whishaw and Kathryn Hunter in Eurotrash, Colin Teevan’s adaptation of the Christian Kracht novel directed by Walter Meierjohann, which opens the season on 13 November 2026 and plays until 9 January 2027.

Milo Rau’s extraordinary testimonial piece The Pelicot Trial breaks out beyond our theatre walls to County Hall; a piece of confronting event-theatre which bears witness to the harrowing story of Gisèle Pelicot. We also join forces with the ever-innovative DARKFIELD to present their binaural piece Eulogy which is conjured up in the pitch darkness of a shipping container parked outside The Young Vic.”
The theatre is also opening a training arm alongside the season. The Directors’ Cut gathers mentoring, professional training, introductions to directing, directing intensives, international exchange visits with European partners and assistant director posts on Young Vic productions under a single pathway, with further detail promised in the coming months. Three programmes for 18 to 25-year-olds follow from the Taking Part department: a Young Vic Young Company of ten, led by director Adam Karim, which will perform a newly commissioned play in the Maria in July 2027; Young Vic Young Technicians, paid on-the-job training for eight; and Young Vic Young Disruptors, a producing and event management course for another eight. Booking for dissent, Gem of the Ocean, What’s The F**king Point?, Eulogy and A Hunger Artist opens at 11am on 1 October for Patrons+, with Good Friends from 5 October and Friends from 6 October, and general booking from 11am on 7 October. Booking for The Pelicot Trial opens at 10am on 7 October for Patrons+ and at 11am the same morning for everyone else. Eurotrash opens the season at the Young Vic on 13 November 2026.
