Kids Week 2013 looks set to be the biggest ever!

Kids Week It’s never easy entertaining the kids over, what can sometimes be, a long hot summer holiday… Well thankfully, London’s West End has the answer with the launch of Kids Week 2013. This longstanding initiative helps make a family trip to a West End show much more affordable. This year, Kids Week returns for a full month with an exciting line-up of some of the best family-friendly productions. All of these world-class musicals and plays are offering free tickets for children and families throughout the month of August!

Some of the shows taking part in Kids Week 2013 include:

We’re Going On A Bear Hunt at the Lyric Theatre
Michael Rosen's award-winning book We're Going On A Bear Hunt is brought vividly and noisily to the stage in director Sally Cookson’s inventive production. Featuring catchy songs, interactive scenes and plenty of hands-on adventure - plus a few special surprises along the way!

Horrible Histories - Barmy Britain at the Garrick Theatre
Based on Terry Deary's massively popular children’s books and TV series, the stage adaptation Horrible Histories - Barmy Britain returns to London for one month only this summer, taking audiences on a hilarious trip into Britain's barmy past.

War Horse at the New London Theatre
War Horse, based on the novel by Michael Morpurgo, is a moving and imaginative drama, filled with stirring music and magnificent puppetry by South Africa's Handspring Puppet Company. Full-scale galloping horses are brought to life on the stage as life in the World War One trenches is recreated.

Once - A New Musical at the Phoenix Theatre
Based on the much-loved Oscar-winning film, Once is an extraordinary, original celebration of love, friendship and music. When an Irish busker and a Czech girl meet through a shared passion for music, their songwriting sparks a deep connection and a tender romance that neither of them expected. Winner of 8 Tony® Awards in 2012, including Best New Musical.

From 1 to 31 August, a child aged 16 or under can go free to participating Kids Week shows when accompanied by an adult paying full price, and up to two additional children can go at half price.
