The full trailer for Speculations is out, putting Janie Dee on the trail of three famous deaths as the reporter Dorothy Kilgallen in Trevor Nunn's staging of Torben Betts' new political thriller.
Three deaths, one reporter and a story the powerful would rather nobody printed. That is the pull of Speculations, and the production has now released its full trailer, a little over a fortnight before the world premiere at the Marylebone Theatre on Friday 30 October.
Torben Betts wrote it. Trevor Nunn directs. Olivier Award winner Janie Dee plays Dorothy Kilgallen, one of the most famous American journalists of her day, who in New York in 1965 is chasing the story of her career: the deaths of Marilyn Monroe, John F. Kennedy and Lee Harvey Oswald. Every answer she finds raises a more dangerous question, and when the threats arrive at her own front door she has to decide what the truth is worth to her.

The trailer is the latest step on the road to opening night, after the September news that Jolyon Coy and Gloria Obianyo had joined Dee and last week's first pictures from the rehearsal room. The run, the venue and the creative team are all laid out in our guide to Speculations.
Speculations is booking now at the Marylebone Theatre for its run of 30 October 2026 - 3 January 2027.
