Westerberg High has a fresh calling card. Heathers the Musical has released a new trailer for its UK and Ireland tour, timed for the company's week at Peterborough's New Theatre (13-17 October) before the tour moves on to Sheffield.

Sacdalan carries much of it. One shot catches her Veronica grinning over a Slurpee at the convenience-store counter while Louis Hearsey's J.D. leans in behind her; another finds her singing out beneath the tall windows of the school set.

The trailer is also on YouTube: Heathers the Musical, 2026/27 UK and Ireland tour trailer.

Sacdalan, whose credits include &Juliet, plays the outsider who falls in with the school's three most feared girls. Hearsey, seen in I Was a Teenage She-Devil, is Jason "J.D." Dean, the newcomer who shows her what popularity can cost. The three Heathers are Liberty Stottor as Heather Chandler and Lou Henry as Heather McNamara, both from SIX, with Jessica Ibadin, new to the professional stage, as Heather Duke.

Around them, Veronica Carabai (Black Power Desk) doubles as Ms. Fleming and Veronica's Mom, and Sophie Manners, another professional debutant, is Martha Dunnstock. The jocks are Markus Södergren (Here and Now – The Steps Musical) as Kurt Kelly and newcomer Beau Jackson as Ram Sweeney. John Gurdian, credited with a West End debut, covers Ram's Dad, Big Bud Dean and Coach Ripper, while Reuben Browne (School of Rock) plays Kurt's Dad, Veronica's Dad and Principal Gowan.

The ensemble is Christian De-Gallerie (Preppy Stud/Officer), Ellouise Delooze (New Wave Party Girl), Caitlin Garcia (Drama Club Drama Queen), Alexander Howarth (Hipster Dork), Charlotte O'Rourke (Midwestern Surfer Punk), Thomas Oxley (Beleaguered Geek), Tola Sokoya (Young Republicanette) and Carys Taylor (Stoner Chick). Previous credits across the group include Midnight, The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical, Cruel Intentions The Musical and Bonnie & Clyde.

Kevin Murphy and Laurence O'Keefe wrote the book, music and lyrics, adapting Daniel Waters's screenplay for the 1989 cult film with Winona Ryder and Christian Slater. The stage version opened in Los Angeles in 2013 and moved to New World Stages in New York a year later; London got a reworked edition in 2018, with new songs and a revised script. Three West End seasons and three UK and Ireland tours followed, along with the 2019 WhatsOnStage Award for Best New Musical and a filmed version streamed on The Roku Channel in 2022.

The touring company is also bound for Manila, playing The Theatre at Solaire from 21 January to 7 February 2027, and a separate North American tour starts at the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore in May 2027 before New Haven, Chicago, Charlotte, Greenville and Hershey. Fans may remember the three-continent Candy Store video that brought the UK Heathers together with their New York and Australian counterparts.

Andy Fickman directs, with choreography by Gary Lloyd, who is also associate director. Design is by David Shields, lighting by Ben Cracknell and sound by Dan Samson, with musical supervision from Jeremy Wootton and Will Joy. Bill Kenwright Ltd and Paul Taylor-Mills produce. The show is recommended for ages 14 and over.
