The Comedy About Spies has its 2027 UK tour route: 17 venues, opening at the Waterside Theatre in Aylesbury on 12 June and ending at the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton on 9 October.
Mischief's spy farce The Comedy About Spies now has dates and venues for its first UK tour. It opens at the Waterside Theatre in Aylesbury on Saturday 12 June 2027 and finishes at the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton on Saturday 9 October, with 17 stops in all.
London gets one week. The tour reaches the New Wimbledon Theatre from 28 September to 2 October, the second-last date on the route. Scotland has two, at the Theatre Royal in Glasgow and the Festival Theatre in Edinburgh, both in July. Cardiff's Wales Millennium Centre follows straight after Glasgow.
Tickets are not on sale yet. Mischief says booking will open soon and will be confirmed venue by venue on the tour website. The company has not been named either: the touring cast remains under wraps for now.
The play is written by Henry Lewis and Henry Shields and directed by Matt DiCarlo, with Kenny Wax and Stage Presence presenting in association with Jo Danvers. It is set in 1960s London, where a stolen file holding plans for a secret weapon brings CIA and KGB agents to the Piccadilly Hotel, alongside a young couple who have no idea what they have walked into. It won Best New Play at the 2026 WhatsOnStage Awards and was nominated for an Olivier for Best New Entertainment or Comedy Play.
The tour follows two West End runs, the second of which finished at the Adelphi Theatre in September. Mischief first confirmed the 2027 tour as that run ended, without dates or venues. In London, the company's The Play That Goes Wrong is still running at the Duchess Theatre, and Christmas Carol Goes Wrong plays Wyndham's Theatre this winter.
Co-writer Henry Shields announced the route in a short video on Mischief's YouTube channel.
