The Comedy About Spies description
Love a brilliant British stage comedy? The Mischief Company's brand new action-packed spy thriller The Comedy About Spies, is on stage in the West End for 2025, the latest in the team's beloved series of madcap adventures. Expect to leave the venue helpless with giggles.
The best in British silliness
The multi award-winning team behind The Play That Goes Wrong, Mind Mangler and The Comedy About a Bank Robbery is back, this time whisking us back to the 1960s London when the Cold War was raging.
The story? A rogue British spy nicks some top secret plans for a new weapon. Despite America and Russia being sworn enemies, spies from the CIA and KGB meet at London’s Piccadilly Hotel to hunt down the mole and get back the file he stole.
At the same time, a British couple and fellow actor turn up at the hotel, in town to audition for the title role in the first James Bond film. As the stakes get ever-higher a hilarious spy caper unfolds, thick with misunderstandings, miscommunication and mistaken identities.
Fresh comedy from the legends at Mischief Theatre
The Mischief Theatre was created in 2008 by three students at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields. Having wowed audience with their improvised comedy shows for four years, they ventured into theatre and never looked back. The BBC TV series The Goes Wrong Show, Magic Goes Wrong, Peter Pan Goes Wrong and Mischief Movie Night have sealed their reputation as comedy geniuses.
