Rehearsals are under way for Love Never Dies in Concert, and Danny Kaan's photographs from the room arrive three days before the first performance at the London Palladium. It is a short engagement for a production that already carries a WhatsOnStage Award: five performances in all, opening at 7.30pm on Friday 16 October, with a 2.30pm matinee joining the 7.30pm show on both Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October.

Jamie Muscato takes the title role of the Phantom opposite Celinde Schoenmaker as Christine, less than a week after he was also named to lead the West End company of One Day at the Garrick. George Blagden plays Raoul, Courtney Stapleton is Meg and Mazz Murray is Giry, while Holly James, Nic Greenshields and Charles Brunton play Fleck, Squelch and Gangle.

The ensemble is Leslie Garcia Bowman, Georgia Joan Clements, Sally Frith, Ciara Jackson, DeAngelo Jones, Christian Knight, Louis Mackrodt and Lily Wang. Elliot Norrington plays Gustave, with George Jones on standby for the role.

Shaun Kerrison directs the concert, working with choreographer Joanna Goodwin, set and costume designer Rebecca Brower, lighting designer Tim Deiling, sound designer Paul Gatehouse and music supervisor Simon Lee. Darren Bell and Cuffe & Taylor produce for Live Nation, presenting the piece by arrangement with LW Entertainment.

The sequel picks up ten years after the Phantom vanished from the Paris Opera House. He has rebuilt his life in New York, where his music has at last found an audience, and he contrives to bring Christine across the Atlantic with her husband and their son Gustave for one more performance, a plan that drags the old history back into the open. Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote the music, and the book with Ben Elton, Glenn Slater and Frederick Forsyth; Slater wrote the lyrics, with additional lyrics by Charles Hart, and the orchestrations are by David Cullen and Lloyd Webber.

The Palladium dates land in the 40th year of Cameron Mackintosh's production of Phantom of the Opera at His Majesty's Theatre, which is itself due to be filmed live for a 2027 cinema release.

Love Never Dies in Concert is booking now at the London Palladium for its five performances from 16-18 October 2026.
