A new production of Jez Butterworth's Mojo starts at Park Theatre on 4 March 2027. It is the play's first London revival in 14 years.
Mojo is back. Jez Butterworth's debut runs at the Park Theatre from 4 March - 10 April 2027, with press night on Wednesday 10 March. Max Harrison directs and Kit Hinchcliffe designs.
Park Theatre and Lidless Theatre are behind the revival. Casting has not been announced yet, and nor has the rest of the creative team. London last saw the play in the 2013 West End revival.
The setting is the Atlantic Club in 1950s Soho, where Silver Johnny is the act everyone wants to see. Then the owner is murdered. The people he leaves behind turn on each other in a brutal fight over who runs the club, and the shine starts to come off the rock 'n' roll scene.
It was Butterworth's first play. The Royal Court staged it in 1995 and it won the Olivier Award for Best New Comedy. It also earned him the George Devine Award and the Evening Standard Theatre Award for Most Promising Playwright. Jerusalem, The Ferryman and The Hills of California came later.
The revival is one of the headline titles in Park Theatre's 2027 season.
