Katherine Senior both writes and appears in Spitfire Girls, which reaches London for the first time at Park Theatre from 27 January 2027.
Katherine Senior, who wrote Spitfire Girls, is also in the company when the play comes to the Park Theatre for its London premiere, from 27 January - 27 February 2027. The cast also includes Hannah Morrison, Kirsty Cox, Paul Brown and Daniel Copeland, and Seán Aydon directs. Press night is Thursday 28 January.
The London dates are part of the production's third UK tour. It first opened at MAST Mayflower Southampton in March 2025, after development supported by the National Theatre's Generate programme.
Senior's play is drawn from the true stories of the women of the Air Transport Auxiliary, who took to the air in the Second World War and defied what was expected of women at the time. It is framed on New Year's Eve 1959, with rain beating on the windows of a pub called The Spitfire, as two women separated by the war find each other again. Their memories take the play back to those years, and to a story of friendship, family and hope as much as flying.
Spitfire Girls is one of the titles in Park Theatre's 2027 season, which runs from January to November.
