Henry Shields and Allie Dart join most of the original UK company of Christmas Carol Goes Wrong for its Manchester and Portsmouth dates in November, before the production makes its North American premiere in Los Angeles in December.
Henry Shields and Allie Dart will play Manchester Opera House and Portsmouth's Kings Theatre in Christmas Carol Goes Wrong this November, before travelling on to the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles for the show's North American premiere. Shields, who co-wrote the piece, takes the role of Chris; Dart plays Annie.
They are joined at all three venues by most of the original UK company. The full cast is Matt Cavendish as Max, Allie Dart as Annie, Sasha Frost as Sandra, Henry Lewis as Robert, Chris Leask as Trevor, Jonathan Sayer as Dennis, Henry Shields as Chris and Greg Tannahill as Jonathan. The understudies are Matthew Biddulph, Siobhan Cha Cha, Orla O'Sullivan and Josh Patel-Foster.

The Manchester and Portsmouth weeks sit within the show's second UK tour, which opens in Bromley on 27 October 2026 and carries on around the country until 7 March 2027. Casting for the remaining tour dates has yet to be confirmed, as has the company for the West End return, which runs at the Wyndham's Theatre from 18 December 2026 to 23 January 2027.
Los Angeles takes Mischief back to the Ahmanson, where Peter Pan Goes Wrong played in 2023. The Los Angeles run is produced by Kenny Wax, Stage Presence and Kevin McCollum. Together with Australian dates at HOTA on the Gold Coast (4-12 December) and Sydney Opera House (17-29 December), it is the first time the company has taken its festive disaster outside the UK. The Australian production is brought over by GMG Productions and Stoddart Entertainment Group, with casting still to be announced. Mischief's staging is presented worldwide in arrangement with Mischief Worldwide Ltd.
The show hands Charles Dickens to the Cornley Amateur Drama Society, whose attempt on A Christmas Carol is undone by a late set, absent actors, crossed wires and an increasingly bitter argument over who gets to play Scrooge. It sold out the Apollo Theatre when it premiered in Shaftesbury Avenue last year.
Christmas Carol Goes Wrong is written by original Mischief members Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, and directed by Matt DiCarlo, whose production of The Comedy About Spies is at the Adelphi Theatre until 26 September 2026. The creative team is completed by set designer Libby Todd, costume designer Roberto Surace, lighting designer David Howe, and sound designer and composer Alexandra Faye Braithwaite. The Play That Goes Wrong company Mischief produce the UK dates with Kenny Wax and Stage Presence.
