First production photos from the Paranormal Activity UK and Ireland tour

The first production photographs from the UK and Ireland tour of Paranormal Activity were released today by Melting Pot. The images are by Johan Persson and show the four-strong cast on the production's domestic set.

The tour is led by James Bye as James, whose credits include the UK tour of 2:22 and BBC One's EastEnders, and Hannah Sinclair Robinson as Lou, whose stage work includes The Play That Goes Wrong in the West End and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time for the National Theatre and on a UK and Ireland tour. Jo Castleton plays Etheline Cotgrave and Caroline Faber plays Carolanne. Castleton's credits include War Horse at the National Theatre and on national and international tours; Faber's include Network and The Heiress, also at the National Theatre.

The play is written by Levi Holloway and directed by Felix Barrett, founder and artistic director of Punchdrunk. It tells a new story built on the film series first written and directed by Oren Peli and brought to the screen by Blumhouse and Solana Films. James and Lou leave Chicago for London to put their past behind them, and discover, in the production's own phrase, that places are not haunted - people are.

The notices have been warm. The Guardian called it "A night that leaves you spellbound. Jaw-clenchingly, arm-clutchingly thrilling", and the Financial Times "A chilling evening: a cracking ghost story so skilfully delivered that it might follow you home."

Set and costume design is by Fly Davis, with illusions by Chris Fisher, lighting by Anna Watson, sound by Gareth Fry and video design by Luke Halls. Casting is by Ginny Schiller CDG.

The tour runs alongside the West End staging, which played the Ambassadors Theatre from Friday 5 December 2025 to Saturday 25 April 2026 and reopened at the same address on Tuesday 11 August. It has since extended again.

Outside the UK, the production began a North American tour last autumn, playing Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Center Theatre Group's Ahmanson Theatre, Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington DC and American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco. It then gave its Canadian premiere at the CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre in Toronto and played Boston's Emerson Colonial Theater, before opening a 20-week Broadway season at the August Wilson Theatre on 14 August 2026.

The production was originally developed at Leeds Playhouse, where the tour returns for a festive run from Tuesday 8 to Saturday 26 December 2026.

It is produced by Simon Friend and Hanna Osmolska for Melting Pot, in association with Gavin Kalin, Ken Davenport, Jenny King, Patrick Gracey, Jonathan and Rae Corr and Leeds Playhouse. The age recommendation is 15 and over.
