This brand-new story is based on the 2007 US supernatural horror film, produced, written, directed, photographed, and edited by Oren Peli, as well as its prequels/sequels.

The plot unfolds live on stage as the young couple James and Lou move home from Chicago to London in order to escape their spooky past. But they quickly find out that maybe it wasn't the place that was haunted. Maybe it was actually them.

First produced at Leeds Playhouse in the summer of 2024, starring Patrick Heusinger, Melissa James, Pippa Winslow, and Jackie Morrison, the West End run reimagines a relatable contemporary ghost story. The plot acquires an extra dimension on stage, a disturbing intimacy that immerses audiences in dread, unseen horrors and psychological tension, a feat of theatricality that has been described as 'mind bending'.

Thrilling staging and scary soundscapes dial the fear up way past eleven in this play, written by Levi Holloway (Grey House) and directed by Felix Barrett (Punchdrunk), with set and costume design by Fly Davis, illusion design by Chris Fisher, video design by Luke Halls, lighting design by Anna Watson, sound design by Gareth Fry, and casting by Stuart Burt CDG and Ginny Schiller CDG. The magic is produced by Simon Friend and Hanna Osmolska for Melting Pot in association with Gavin Kalin, Ken Davenport, Patrick Gracey, Jonathan and Rae Corr, and Leeds Playhouse.
