The Truth is coming back to London: Florian Zeller's comedy of affairs and alibis plays a 12-week season at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 29 July to 16 October 2027, with Stephen Mangan, Ardal O'Hanlon, Sarah Hadland and Janie Dee all back in the company.
The Truth opens at the Theatre Royal Haymarket on 29 July 2027 and plays until 16 October 2027, with the media night on 5 August. The run is limited to 12 weeks, and it follows the production's sold-out West End season at the Apollo Theatre this year.
The same four actors return. Stephen Mangan is Michel, Ardal O'Hanlon is Paul, Sarah Hadland is Alice and Janie Dee is Laurence. O'Hanlon's London dates run until 4 September, and further casting is still to be announced.
Zeller, the Oscar-winning French dramatist, wrote the play, and Christopher Hampton translated it into English. Lindsay Posner directs, with set and costume design by Lizzie Clachan, lighting by Richard Howell and sound by Adam Cork. The Olivier-nominated comedy turns on two couples and the secrets running between them, with friendship, marriage and a great deal of careful lying all on the line. It runs at around 90 minutes, with no interval.
Melting Pot's Simon Friend and Hanna Osmolska produce, in association with Len Blavatnik and Danny Cohen for Access Entertainment, Gavin Kalin Productions, Fiery Dragons and Keren Misgav. Friend said: “The Truth was a sell-out sensation over its run at the Apollo Theatre, which finished a few weeks ago, and our magnificent cast had such fun with Florian's comic masterpiece that they’re reuniting to bring more gales of laughter to the West End. We’re enormously grateful to Len Blavatnik and Danny Cohen for welcoming the show into the Theatre Royal Haymarket for another season next year before heading out across the country.”
After London, the production goes on a short UK tour. O'Hanlon will not appear at the tour venues. Tickets for the Brighton, Birmingham and Glasgow dates go on sale on 9 October 2026.
