The first pictures of Teri Hatcher at work as Miranda Priestly are out, taken as the incoming company of The Devil Wears Prada rehearses for the musical's third year at the Dominion Theatre.
Rehearsal photographs by Matt Crockett and Danny Kaan give a first look at the cast taking over The Devil Wears Prada at the Dominion Theatre on 20 October 2026. The changeover opens the musical's third year in the West End, and comes a fortnight after the full line-up for that year was confirmed.
Teri Hatcher is pictured as Miranda Priestly, the editor-in-chief of Runway, with Matt Henry MBE as her right hand, Nigel. Also in the room are Jenna Bonner as Andy Sachs, Taila Halford as first assistant Emily, Dean Makowski-Clayton as Andy's boyfriend Nate and Dominic Andersen as Christian.
Until the new company arrives, the part of Miranda is being played full-time by Debbie Kurup, the production's first standby in the role, whose run in it ends on 17 October 2026.
The handover finds the show in robust commercial health. Since opening in the West End in December 2024 it has sold more than 1.3 million tickets, which the producers say makes it the fastest-selling show the Dominion has housed, and it reached its 800th performance on 23 September. Before London it played Theatre Royal Plymouth, from 6 July to 17 August 2024.
The production has also put some numbers on what happens backstage. Tony Award winner Gregg Barnes has costumed the show in hundreds of handmade pieces, combined with sourced vintage and second-hand clothes and labels including Dior, Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen and Balmain, while the British shoemaker Terry de Havilland has supplied more than 80 pairs of shoes. Miranda and Andy alone account for 11 costume changes. Each curtain call uses 680 grams of confetti, 5.4 kilograms over a week, and the deputy stage manager calls a cue roughly every six seconds.
The creative team is led by Elton John, with direction and choreography by Jerry Mitchell, lyrics by Shaina Taub and Mark Sonnenblick and a book by Kate Wetherhead. Tim Hatley designs the set, Bruno Poet the lighting and Gareth Owen the sound, and casting is by Jill Green CDG. Kevin McCollum, David Furnish and Jamie Wilson produce in co-production with Theatre Royal Plymouth, by special arrangement with Buena Vista Theatrical.
The Devil Wears Prada is booking until 25 September 2027, with evening performances Monday to Saturday at 7.30pm and matinees on Wednesday and Saturday at 2.30pm. Tickets start at £25.
