Production images have been released for Anansi The Spider, the Unicorn Theatre and Regent's Park Open Air Theatre retelling of the West African and Caribbean trickster tales, playing on the Picnic Lawn until 6 September.
Production images have been released for Anansi The Spider, a Unicorn Theatre and Regent's Park Open Air Theatre production running on the Picnic Lawn at Regent's Park until 6 September 2026.
Written by Justin Audibert and directed by Unicorn associate director Robin Belfield, the show retells the West African and Caribbean folk tales of Anansi, the spider who talks and schemes his way past far bigger animals - and who is now and then a shade too clever for his own good. It is pitched at family audiences, and arrives at Regent's Park after sold-out runs at the Unicorn Theatre in 2023 and 2025.
The cast is Cynthia Emeagi as Narrator 1, Becky Sanneh as Narrator 2 and Elizabeth Peace as Narrator 3, with Mira Morrison as understudy.
Joining Robin Belfield on the creative team are designer Sadeysa Greenaway-Bailey, movement director Asha Jennings-Grant, sound designer Esther Kehinde Ajayi, songs composer Duramaney Kamara, voice and dialect coach Joel Trill and associate designer Delyth Evans.
