New production images as Brainiac Live counts down its final Garrick weeks

New production images have been released for Brainiac Live, which has under two weeks left at the Garrick Theatre before taking the West End staging out on a UK tour this autumn.
New West End production images by Danny Kaan have been released for Brainiac Live, which plays the Garrick Theatre until Sunday 30 August before continuing on tour.
Winner of the 2025 Olivier Award for Best Family Show - an award earned by its summer run at the Marylebone Theatre - the show turns a science lesson into ninety minutes of controlled chaos: liquid nitrogen clouds, vortex smoke rings, exploding hydrogen balloons, spinning carbon dioxide chairs and a good deal of noise. It is built for ages five and up, and drawn from the ITV Studios television series of the same name.
Since it began in 2008 the show has played to more than a million children and families, headlining science festivals and travelling from Edinburgh to Sydney Opera House, Hong Kong, Brisbane, Barcelona, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Dubai Opera, including a dual-language English and Arabic staging at Ithra in Saudi Arabia.
Rik Warren and Tracy Rahi return from the Olivier-winning cast for the Garrick season, alternating with Andy Joyce and Jack Andrews. Written and directed by creative director Andy Joyce, with design by Damien Stanton, the production is presented by Dan Colman Creative, Rupert Gavin and Mallory Factor; the original direction and writing were by Ben Keaton.
Producer Dan Colman said: "We've had a fantastic, explosive summer at the Garrick Theatre entertaining thousands of families who have shared our love of laughter and learning. With less than two weeks to go we're sad to be finishing this great run of shows in London but excited to be bringing the West End production to theatres across the UK this Autumn. We look forward to returning to London on a regular basis and exciting new developments for Brainiac and Brainiac Live."
The tour then calls at:
- 13 September: Grand Opera House, York
- 27 October: Eastbourne Theatres
- 28 October: Chelmsford Theatre
- 29 October: Lighthouse, Poole
- 30 October: The Anvil, Basingstoke
- 31 October: St George's, Bradford
- 1 November: New Theatre, Peterborough
The Brainiacs have also recorded an appearance with the Blue Peter team in Salford, which airs on CBBC and BBC iPlayer from Friday 9 October.
