The first production images have been released for the UK tour of Burlesque the Musical, photographed by Rosie Moore for The Social Sort, with Faye Brookes pictured as club owner Tess Richarde.

Adapted from Steven Antin's film, which starred Christina Aguilera and Cher, the musical follows Ali, who arrives in New York looking for her mother and finds herself drawn into the world of a burlesque club - and, in the process, discovers a voice she did not know she had. The score gathers songs by Christina Aguilera, Sia, Diane Warren, Jess Folley, Todrick Hall and Steven Antin.

Faye Brookes plays Tess Richarde. Known to television audiences as Kate Connor in Coronation Street, for which she won Best Newcomer at the National Television Awards, and a runner-up on Dancing on Ice, her stage roles include Roxie Hart in Chicago, Elle Woods in Legally Blonde, Princess Fiona in Shrek and Fran in Strictly Ballroom.

Gracie O'Brien, a recent graduate, makes her professional stage debut as Ali Rose. Ryan Carter, who has just finished as The Iceberg in Titanique in the West End, doubles as Sean and Ms Loretta. Davide Fienauri plays Vince after Kiss of the Spider Woman at Curve and on tour; Tyler Davis, who made his West End and Broadway debut as Sheldrake in Sunset Blvd, plays Jackson; and Vanessa Ela Young, alternate Satine in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, is Nikki.

They are joined by Macy Dermody Blythe, Darnell Matthew James, Leah Pugh, Freya Baddeley, Kizzi Pink Simpson, Owen Stringer and Keith Alexander, with Callum Rose, Emily Jane Fitton, Alexanda O'Reilly, Emma Lloyd and Rhys West as ensemble and swings.

Steven Antin is producer, writer and creative director. The production is directed by Racky Plews, with choreography by Robin Antin, who created The Pussycat Dolls, and Aaron Renfree. It is produced by Christina Aguilera, Adam Paulden and Jason Haigh-Ellery, Steven Antin, Clint Culpepper and In Fine Company, with Toby Brewer as associate producer.
