First look at One Day in rehearsal ahead of its Garrick Theatre opening

The production has released a set of rehearsal-room pictures of One Day, shot by Pamela Raith. The show opens at the Garrick Theatre on Tuesday 17 November 2026.

The photos catch the company mid-process: graduation gowns and mortarboards for the night the story begins, a table crowded with bottles, and the dance routines being worked out on a taped-up floor.

Jamie Muscato is Dexter Mayhew and Sharon Rose is Emma Morley, the couple the story checks in on every 15 July, year after year. The musical is adapted from David Nicholls’ bestselling novel.

The rest of the company are Dan Buckley (Ian), Dougie Carter (Callum), Anna-Jane Casey (Alison Mayhew), Ross Dawes (Mr. Godalming), Christopher Dickins (Stephen Mayhew), Kelly Hampson (Sylvie), Jennifer Louise Jones (Miffy) and Romona Lewis-Malley (Tilly). Vanessa Fisher and Ewan Murphy are in the ensemble, with Rosalía Morales and Tom Mussell as understudies.

The book is by David Greig, and the songs are by Abner and Amanda Ramirez, with additional material from Jeremy Sams. Max Webster directs. Carrie-Anne Ingrouille choreographs, Rae Smith designs the set and costumes, and Nigel Lilley is musical supervisor and musical director.

The full company was confirmed earlier this month, when we reported that Jamie Muscato and Sharon Rose lead the West End cast. For the practical side of the run, see everything you need to know about One Day at the Garrick.

Performances begin on 17 November. One Day is booking now at the Garrick Theatre.
