Lee Mead returns to the Adelphi Theatre on Sunday 11 July 2027 with a new solo concert, Twenty Years in Technicolour, twenty years on from the television vote that handed him the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on the same stage. Tickets go on sale on Friday 2 October.
Twenty years ago a television vote sent Lee Mead to the Adelphi Theatre. He is going back. Twenty Years in Technicolour, a new solo concert, runs there on Sunday 11 July 2027, and tickets go on sale on Friday 2 October.
The concert marks twenty years since Mead won the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat on the BBC's Any Dream Will Do and played it at that theatre. DEM Productions presents the evening in association with Westway Music.
A live band joins him, and the producers are hinting at guest appearances on the night. The programme draws on the shows he has been in - Joseph, We Will Rock You, Phantom of the Opera, Sister Act and Barnum - with songs by George Michael, Tony Bennett and Bruno Mars beside them.
Mead's West End credits include Fiyero in Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, Emmett in Legally Blonde at the Savoy Theatre, Khashoggi in We Will Rock You at the London Coliseum and Eddie Souther in Sister Act at the Dominion Theatre. He has toured as Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Billy Flynn in Chicago, and his earlier credits take in The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre, Miss Saigon, The Who's Tommy and The West End Men at the London Palladium.
Away from the stage he is known as Ben 'Lofty' Chiltern in the BBC's Casualty and Holby City, with further television in Bedlam, Motherland and The Dumping Ground. He has recorded several solo albums, and his autobiography Lee Mead - The Colours Of My Life is published by A Way With Media in September 2026, twenty years on from his debut album The Colours of My Life.
Twenty Years in Technicolour runs at the Adelphi Theatre, 409-412 Strand, with performances at 2.00pm and 7.00pm.
