Oklahoma! and Kinky Boots make up the 2027 open-air season at Kilworth House Theatre in Leicestershire, with tickets on general sale from 12 November.
Kilworth House Theatre has named its two shows for next summer. Oklahoma! opens the 2027 outdoor season on 8 June, and Kinky Boots takes over from 27 July. General booking for both opens at 10am on Thursday 12 November.
Both are new productions for the Leicestershire venue, which stages its summer musicals in the grounds of Kilworth House in North Kilworth. Casting and creative teams have not yet been announced.
Oklahoma!
Rodgers and Hammerstein's first collaboration runs from 8 June - 11 July 2027. Set in Oklahoma Territory just after 1900, it follows cowboy Curly and farm girl Laurey as a box social, a rival suitor and the arrival of statehood pull the community in different directions. The score includes Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin', The Surrey with the Fringe on Top and the title song.
Kinky Boots
The second show plays from 27 July - 29 August 2027. Harvey Fierstein wrote the book and Cyndi Lauper the music and lyrics for the musical, adapted from the 2005 British film. Charlie Price inherits his father's failing Northampton shoe factory and finds an unlikely way to save it when he teams up with drag performer Lola to make boots built for performers like her.
