Everything you need to know about Peppa Pig’s Big Family Show! at the Theatre Royal Haymarket

Photo by Mark Senior Peppa Pig is back at the Theatre Royal Haymarket for Christmas, with a nursery to finish before baby Evie arrives and a theatre full of small helpers to do it. Here is everything you need to know before you book.

Peppa Pig has been part of the West End Christmas since Peppa Pig's Party arrived at the Criterion in 2010, and this December the Pig family returns to the house that has become something of a London home for them. Peppa Pig’s Big Family Show!, the newest of the live shows, comes back to the Theatre Royal Haymarket for the festive season after its first Christmas there last year and a UK tour that ran on through 2026. It is made for pre-schoolers, and it asks a good deal of them.

Who is starring in Peppa Pig’s Big Family Show!?

The production's official site lists a company of five. Emma Hilts plays Peppa Pig, and Charlie Culkin doubles as Mummy Pig and Suzy Sheep. David Tudor takes three parts, Daddy Pig, Mr Bull and Danny Dog, while Cinem Gopaul plays Daisy, the one human face among the animals, as well as George Pig. Cate Brooks completes the company as understudy and assistant stage manager.

None of them is new to this territory. Hilts has appeared in Bing's Birthday and Peppa Pig's Surprise, Tudor in Bing's Birthday and Peppa Pig's Fun Day Out, and Culkin in Meet the Teaspoons and Peppa Pig's Best Day Ever. Most of the animals are large puppets, worked in full view by performers dressed in black; Mummy Pig is a full costume.

What is Peppa Pig’s Big Family Show! about?

A new baby is on the way, and the Pig household is nowhere near ready for her. There is building work to finish and a nursery to decorate, and Peppa, George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig need the audience to lend a hand if everything is to be done before the big day. The arrival is Evie, the newest member of the family, and this is the show that introduces her to a theatre audience.

Expect songs, games and a great deal of joining in: this is a show that wants small children singing, clapping and helping rather than sitting still. The story keeps to the gentle domestic comedy of the television series created by Neville Astley and Mark Baker, which first aired in May 2004.

Who is behind the production?

Richard Lewis directs, and co-adapted the show for the stage. He has directed every Peppa Pig live show so far, which makes this the work of the same hand behind tours that have played to more than 2.5 million people in the UK over 15 years, among them Peppa Pig's Best Day Ever, which also ran at the Haymarket.

The production comes from the children's theatre company Fierylight, with Martin Ronan as executive producer, in partnership with the licensor Hasbro.

When and where can I see it?

Peppa Pig’s Big Family Show! runs at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, 8 Haymarket, from Friday 4 December 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027. The running time is 1 hour 20 minutes, including an interval, which is about right for the age group it is aimed at.

The show is suitable for all ages. Babies under 12 months sitting on an adult's lap do not need a ticket; everyone else does. Tickets currently start at £12, and you can book Peppa Pig’s Big Family Show! here.

What else should I book if I like it?

  • Room on the Broom at the Lyric Theatre: Tall Stories' staging of the Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler picture book, pitched at the same young audience.
  • The Snowman at the Peacock Theatre: Raymond Briggs's story told through music and dance, the natural next step once a child can manage a longer show without words.
  • Pinocchio at the Globe: the theatre's Christmas show, a fuller story for families ready for a longer afternoon out.
