The Unicorn Theatre has named the company for Home Song, an interactive musical written for babies, which returns to the theatre's Clore studio next month.
Monet Marquis plays Adwoa and Nkara Stephenson plays Mother/Kwame in Home Song, the interactive musical for babies that returns to the Unicorn Theatre this autumn. Halle Brown understudies both roles.
Created, composed and directed by Cassiopeia Berkeley-Agyepong, the show follows young Adwoa and her mum as they set out to find what home really means, travelling from the busy streets of Kumasi to the middle of London. Puppets carry the story and a cappella singing carries the score, while interactive soundscapes draw the audience in to sing and play along.
The design is by Ruth Badila. Aimee Louise Bevan is movement and puppetry director, Aisha Oyedepo is lighting designer and Chuma Emembolu is associate lighting designer.
It is a Unicorn Theatre production, originally commissioned and produced by the Unicorn with Talawa Theatre Company and developed through Talawa's Early Years Programme with support from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation and Arts Council England. The Unicorn's Creative Hub shaped it further through workshops with babies and families in Southwark and Croydon. Last year's run sold out.

Home Song is a big show for tiny people and our brilliant cast and creative team have the immense privilege of creating the first experience of theatre for many babies - hopefully building some priceless family memories as well as sparking a love of music, puppetry and play!
"Home Song is inspired by the journey my grandparents made to the UK from Ghana and Grenada in the 1960s and it feels so special to be able to honour their resilience, courage and adventurous spirit in a beautiful musical where we invite the audience into the story as they sing and play along with us.
"We were lucky enough to develop Home Song through numerous workshops in nurseries and parent and baby groups facilitated by Unicorn Theatre's Creative Hub, so from its inception this musical has been specifically designed for babies aged 6-18 months. We can't wait to welcome audiences to meet our beautiful puppets and explore the sensory playground we have built for them as we share this musical story!"
The Unicorn announced the full cast of Pocket Money, a world premiere for audiences aged 7-12, earlier this month.
Home Song runs in the Clore at the Unicorn Theatre, 147 Tooley Street, SE1 2HZ, from Friday 2 October to Sunday 8 November 2026. Tickets are £20.50 to £26.50, and the show is made for babies aged 6-18 months.
