Mischief founders Henry Lewis and Jonathan Sayer step back into Christmas Carol Goes Wrong at Wyndham's

Henry Lewis and Jonathan Sayer are back in costume for Christmas Carol Goes Wrong, taking on Robert and Dennis respectively from Thursday 14 January to Saturday 23 January 2027, the closing stretch of the comedy's festive season at Wyndham's Theatre.

The pair wrote the play with Henry Shields, and both parts are ones they originated as members of the Cornley Amateur Drama Society, the accident-prone troupe whose misadventures began with The Play That Goes Wrong. Mischief has also added a midweek matinee on Wednesday 20 January 2027 at 2.30pm, at which both writers are scheduled to appear.

The rest of the London company, announced in September, stays in place around them: Adam Elliott as Chris, Dave Hearn as Max, Aein Nasseri as Trevor, Luke Pierre as Jonathan, Dumile Sibanda as Annie and Ashley Tucker as Sandra. The understudies are Billie Hamer, Robert Lane, Jay Olpin, Josh Patel-Foster, Jamie Sandersfield and Claire Lee Shenfield.

James Akka and Matthew Howell, who play Dennis and Robert in the production, step aside for those ten days and take the roles back when the UK tour picks up again in York on Tuesday 26 January 2027. The tour as a whole runs from 27 October 2026 to 7 March 2027.

Lewis and Sayer broke the news themselves in a short video on Mischief's YouTube channel:
