Twenty-nine walkers covered 58 West End theatres in fifteen miles on Sunday, raising more than £6,000 for the theatrical charity Acting for Others and beating the event’s previous record.
Fifteen miles, 58 theatres, one Sunday. The Big West End Walk raised more than £6,000 for Acting for Others on 6 September 2026, comfortably past the record of just over £4,000 set in 2024.
West End Charity Football Club runs it, and this was the fourth. Club captain Jon-Scott Clark (Hamilton, Miss Saigon) led the walk with Danny Colligan (Les Misérables, Dirty Dancing) and Jonny Phillips (Les Misérables), the three of whom started the event in 2023.
Twenty-nine people walked. Acting for Others ambassadors Kim Ismay, Ben Stock and Harriet Thorpe were among them, joined by Michael Xavier, along with staff from three of the charity’s members - Dancers’ Career Development, The Royal Theatrical Fund and The Theatrical Guild.
Acting for Others exists to support people working in theatre when things go wrong, distributing financial and emotional help through fourteen member charities. Dance Direct sponsored the t-shirts. Green Room Ents handled refreshments at the finish.
