One Man, Two Guvnors tickets

One Man, Two Guvnors is based on playwright Carlo Goldoni’s 1700s classic, The Servant of Two masters. And writer Richard Bean has made it his own by injecting a wealth of contemporary references, bringing it bang up to date and setting the action in Brighton during the swinging ‘60s.

If you love having your funny bone well and truly tickled, this is the show for you, jam-packed with crazily clever banter, classic slapstick humour and fearsomely funny farce. There’s even a live Skiffle band to keep you entertained between acts.

Francis, the play’s main protagonist, is broke and badly needs a job. He struggles on until out of the blue, two exciting job opportunities come his way. He can’t bear to turn either of them down, deciding he can handle both at once. Which is where the fun really starts…

Life gets a little more tricky when he finds out that the father of one of his new employers is a violent East End gangster. And things get even worse when Francis, under serious stress at this point, can’t for the life of him remember which employer is which, and can’t figure out who wants what.

Can the hapless hero keep his parallel lives on track, or will they collide in a comical catastrophe? Will he manage to take his lover to Majorca for a romantic break, or is his love life about to fall apart along with his sanity? Come along and see!

The between-acts Skiffle band plays music written especially for the show by the composer Grant Olding, and you can buy a copy of the sound track in the foyer if you like, after the show.

You can look forward to lots of audience participation, masses of laughs and an inspirationally energetic cast. Fantastic! Book your One Man, Two Guvnors cheap tickets now and treat yourself to an upliftingly funny night’s entertainment. One Man, Two Guvnors tickets.

Rufus Hound will not perform on 13 May 2013 & 24-27 July 2013. Owen Brazendale will be performing in his place.
