The National Theatre has put dates on its West Side Story revival, WhatsOnStage reports. The production runs in the Olivier from 5 November 2027 to 12 February 2028. Press night is 25 November.

General booking opens at midday on Thursday 12 November. Across the run, 10,000 tickets are held for under-25s, priced from £10 to £30.

The directors were already known. Marianne Elliott and Miranda Cromwell share the job, back together after their Death of a Salesman revival in the West End and on Broadway. Julio Monge reproduces and adapts Jerome Robbins's original choreography. He was an artistic collaborator and consultant on Steven Spielberg's 2021 film.

The rest of the team is new. Miriam Buether designs the set and Nicky Gillibrand the costumes. Nicholas Skilbeck is music director, Sam Lyon-Behan fight director and Ingrid Mackinnon intimacy director. Casting is by Bryony Jarvis-Taylor and Naomi Downham. The associates are Mumba Dodwell (director), Luca Dinardo (choreographer) and Cat Beveridge (music director).

A first-look poster is out as well, photographed by Adam Fussell, with art direction and design by the National Theatre Creative Studio. No cast has been named yet. Casting and the remaining creatives are still to come.

The musical has a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and was first staged in 1957. This revival was first announced in September as part of the National Theatre's 2027 season.
