Rosie O'Donnell will play the Narrator for a fortnight in Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show at Studio 54 — the Broadway production presented by the British group Trafalgar Entertainment.
Trafalgar Entertainment's Broadway production of Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show has booked Rosie O'Donnell as its guest Narrator for a fortnight, from 6-18 October. She covers a short leave for Rachel Dratch, who returns to the role on 20 October.
The run has been extended twice since the revival opened in April, and tickets at Studio 54 now reach Sunday 28 February 2027. The production, which Trafalgar Entertainment presents with the Dodgers and Roundabout Theatre Company, broke the theatre's house record in the week ending 28 June 2026 with a take of $1,215,225, and is the highest-grossing production to have played there.
The show is a London piece by origin. Richard O'Brien's musical opened at the Royal Court Theatre in 1973 — the production in which Tim Curry created Frank-N-Furter — and the film, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, followed in 1975. It has been in continuous production somewhere in the world for fifty-two years, which no other musical has managed, and has been seen by more than 40 million people in some 15 languages.
O'Donnell's Broadway credits include Grease and Fiddler on the Roof. She has hosted the Tony Awards three times, winning an Emmy Award for it, and received the Isabelle Stevenson Award in 2014. Her stage credits also include the solo show Common Knowledge, which played twelve sold-out performances at the Daryl Roth Theatre off-Broadway. She has lived in Ireland since 2025.
Sam Pinkleton directs, with choreography by Ani Taj, music supervision by Kris Kukul, set design by dots, costumes by David I. Reynoso, lighting by Jane Cox and sound by Brian Ronan. The company at Studio 54 includes Jake Shears as Frank-N-Furter, Lorna Courtney as Janet, Kevin McHale as Brad, Amber Gray as Riff Raff, Jimin Moon as Rocky, George Salazar as Eddie/Dr. Scott, Sherie Rene Scott as Magenta and Valentina as Columbia.
The revival carries nine Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical Revival, six Drama Desk nominations, four Drama League nominations, two Outer Critics Circle nominations and two Chita Rivera Award nominations. The Studio 54 run books to 28 February 2027.
