The first production photographs from Table 17 put Marisha Wallace and Jamael Westman on opposite sides of one small table at Kiln Theatre, where Douglas Lyons’ romantic comedy reaches its press night tonight.
A round booth, a small red table lamp and two people who have not spoken in seven years. Kiln Theatre has released the first production photographs from Table 17, and the pictures go where the play goes: straight to the table.
The images are by Steve Gregson, and they arrive on press night. Douglas Lyons’ romantic comedy opens in Kilburn on Thursday 24 September 2026 and runs until Saturday 24 October, directed by Zhailon Levingston in a Kiln Theatre production staged in association with Jamie Wilson Productions and Mark Cortale.
Marisha Wallace plays Jada and Jamael Westman plays Dallas — the exes of the show’s own billing, “Two exes. One dinner. What could go wrong?” Gregson keeps most of his frames on the two of them: Westman laughing behind his hand, Wallace mid double-take over a cocktail glass, and the one moment their hands meet across the table. Michael Rishawn completes the three-hander as River/Eric, caught alone on the lit floor in a pink marbled blazer.
The photographs also give a first proper look at Amy Jane Cook’s set: a single upholstered banquette marooned on a glowing checkerboard floor, with a grid of backlit panels hung overhead at an angle, like a ceiling that has come loose. Matt Haskins’ lighting swings the room from warm amber to flat red to deep blue across the sequence, and one wide frame trades the restaurant for a ribbon board reading “LET’S GO CLIPPERS”.
Wallace is making her play debut here; her credits include Cabaret and Guys & Dolls. Westman originated the title role of Hamilton in the West End. Rishawn reprises his award-winning role as River/Eric, following the play’s sold-out runs in New York and Los Angeles.
The rest of the creative team is George Dennis (sound), Nicholai La Barrie (associate director), Maybelle Laye (costume supervisor) and Dominique Hamilton (wigs, hair and make-up supervisor). The full company was announced in August.
Table 17 runs at Kiln Theatre, 269 Kilburn High Road, London NW6 7JR, until Saturday 24 October 2026. The running time is 1 hour 35 minutes with no interval, and tickets are priced from £15 to £55. There is a captioned performance on 8 October at 7.30pm, an alcohol-free performance on 12 October at 7.30pm, a relaxed performance on 14 October at 2.30pm, and an audio described performance preceded by a touch tour on 22 October at 7.30pm.
