Nathan are among seventeen actors joining Andy Karl for the New York return of the Old Vic’s A Christmas Carol, which begins previews at the Perelman Performing Arts Center on 20 November.

Jesse Aaronson, whose credits include Leopoldstadt, will play Bob Cratchit to Andy Karl’s Ebenezer Scrooge when the Old Vic’s production of A Christmas Carol goes back to the Perelman Performing Arts Center in Lower Manhattan this winter. The centre named the rest of the New York company on 8 October, completing a cast that until now had only its Scrooge, whose casting we reported in September.

Tamika Lawrence (Caroline, or Change) doubles as the Ghost of Christmas Present and Mrs Fezziwig, and Anne L. Nathan, from Funny Girl and Once, is the Ghost of Christmas Past. Chris Hoch, who was in the company for the production’s first season at the centre, plays Father and Marley, while Grace Yoo (Hadestown) is Mrs Cratchit.

The young Scrooge is Mikey Fabisch (Dear Evan Hansen), with Anna Roman (Girl, Interrupted) as Belle, Joe Joseph (The Fear of 13) as Fred and Evan Harrington as Fezziwig. Madalynn Mathews comes back to the role of Jess after the previous PAC NYC season, Madison Mosley (Beetlejuice) plays Little Fan and Matthew Whennell-Clark (Groundhog Day) is Nicholas. Harry Thornton, who was part of the show’s US tour, takes the parts of Ferdy and George.

Two children share Tiny Tim: Micah Fay Lupin, another returner from the PAC NYC company, and Titan Cody Love, for whom it is a first appearance on any stage. Celia Mei Rubin and Felix Torrez-Ponce are the swings, and Rubin is also associate movement director.

Behind them is the creative team that made the production at the Old Vic. Matthew Warchus, the theatre’s artistic director, conceived and directed it, and the text is Jack Thorne’s version of the Dickens story. Rob Howell designs set and costumes, Hugh Vanstone the lighting and Simon Baker the sound; Christopher Nightingale is composer and arranger, Lizzi Gee handles movement and Campbell Young the wigs, hair and make-up. When the staging had a limited Broadway run in autumn 2019, that team took five Tony Awards, Best Original Score and every one of the design categories among them.

For New York, Thomas Caruso is co-director, Adam Rothenberg music director and David Lai music coordinator, with Andrew Wade as voice and dialect director. Casting is by Jim Carnahan, Jason Thinger and Rachael Jimenez.

Previews start on Friday 20 November 2026 and the opening night is Thursday 3 December, for a limited season ending on Sunday 3 January 2027 at 6 World Trade Center, 251 Fulton Street. It is the show’s second Christmas at the centre, and its return has again been funded by Griffin Catalyst, the civic engagement initiative of Kenneth C. Griffin, founder and chief executive of Citadel. Audiences will be invited at every performance to give to Hunger Free America, a non-partisan US organisation campaigning to end domestic hunger. News From Broadway has the New York company in full.

London has its own staging to look forward to first. The Old Vic’s tenth consecutive year of the production is led by Giles Terera as Scrooge, with a separate company announced last month.

A Christmas Carol is booking at the Old Vic until 9 January 2027.
