Carly Bawden and Annie Wensak are among fifteen actors joining Giles Terera for the Old Vic’s tenth anniversary production of A Christmas Carol, which runs from 10 November 2026 to 9 January 2027.
Carly Bawden plays Belle and Annie Wensak the Ghost of Christmas Past in the Old Vic’s tenth anniversary production of A Christmas Carol, which has now named its full company. Giles Terera takes the role of Ebenezer Scrooge.
Jack North is Bob Cratchit and Gleanne Purcell-Brown Mrs Cratchit. Edward Harrison doubles Father and Marley, Aiesha Naomi plays the Ghost of Christmas Present and Mrs Fezziwig, and Alastair Parker is Fezziwig. Ewan Black plays Fred, Khalid Daley Young Ebenezer and Kirsty MacLaren Little Fan.
Geraint Downing takes Ferdy and George, Claire O’Leary plays Jess and Nuwan Hugh Perera Nicholas and the Schoolmaster. Hollie Jane Stephens is swing and dance captain, with Sam Stones as a swing. Four young performers share the role of Tiny Tim: Imuujin Bayarsaikhan, Freddie Merritt, Veronica Aeryn Onu and Hannah Slater.
Giles Terera won the Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical for Hamilton, and has worked at the Old Vic before on One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Other stage credits include Othello and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom at the National Theatre, and The Merchant of Venice at Shakespeare’s Globe.
The adaptation is by Jack Thorne and the production is directed by Matthew Warchus, the Old Vic’s artistic director. Rob Howell designs set and costume, Christopher Nightingale composes and arranges the music, Hugh Vanstone lights it and Simon Baker designs sound. Movement is by Lizzi Gee, casting by Grindrod Burton Casting, and Jamie Manton is associate director.
A Christmas Carol runs at the Old Vic from 10 November 2026 to 9 January 2027. Previews run 10-23 November 2026 and off-peak performances 1-9 January 2027. The production is staged in the theatre’s Season In The Round configuration, lasts approximately two hours including a 20-minute interval, and is recommended for ages 8+.
Tickets are £19.50-£81.50 for previews and off-peak performances and £19.50-£91.50 at peak, with premium and charitable tickets also available. An access rate of £23.50-£26.50 applies to all performances, with one carer or companion ticket per booking at the same price. The run includes audio described, captioned, BSL interpreted and relaxed performances.
