Carla Gugino and Fred Hechinger have been added to the New York revival of Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge, where they join Sam Rockwell and the London-born Alfred Molina for a 13-week off-Broadway season at La MaMa from 27 November.
Carla Gugino and Fred Hechinger are the latest names to join Neil Pepe's off-Broadway revival of A View from the Bridge, which plays the Ellen Stewart Theatre at La MaMa in New York's East Village this winter. Gugino, whose screen work includes The Haunting of Hill House, is cast as Beatrice, and Hechinger, who played Quinn in the first series of The White Lotus, plays Rodolpho.
They are joined by Tom Pecinka, a Tony nominee, as Marco, and Riley Prior as Catherine. Marin Ireland, who had been part of the original announcement, has withdrawn because of scheduling conflicts.
The new arrivals complete a company built around two names announced earlier. Sam Rockwell, the Academy Award winner and Tony nominee, plays the Brooklyn docker Eddie Carbone, and Alfred Molina is Alfieri, the neighbourhood lawyer who frames the story for the audience. Molina, who was born in London, is a Tony, Olivier and Emmy nominee.
Performances begin on 27 November 2026 for a strictly limited run of 13 weeks, and opening night is Sunday 13 December. Rockwell is producing alongside Mark Berger, with Play Hooky Productions behind the staging.
Three-time Tony winner Scott Pask designs the set. Costumes are by Sarah Laux, lighting by John Torres and sound by Palmer Hefferan, a two-time Tony nominee, with casting by Taylor Williams and Baseline Theatrical as general manager.
Miller's play is set among the Italian immigrant streets of 1950s Brooklyn. Eddie and Beatrice take in her cousins Marco and Rodolpho, who have arrived from Italy without papers in search of work. When Catherine, the niece Eddie has brought up as his own daughter, falls for Rodolpho, his protectiveness sours into jealousy and drives him towards a betrayal that his family and his community cannot forgive.
The season also brings the play back off-Broadway for the first time since 1965, when its first off-Broadway production opened at the Sheridan Square Playhouse, directed by Ulu Grosbard, with Robert Duvall and Jon Voight in the company and Dustin Hoffman assisting on the direction.
London last saw the play in 2024, when Dominic West led a West End transfer to the Theatre Royal Haymarket. The New York casting is also covered in full by News From Broadway.
Tickets for the La MaMa season are on sale now: A View from the Bridge, Ellen Stewart Theatre at La MaMa, New York, from 27 November 2026.
