Fringe First winner The Bridge adds three extra Edinburgh performances

Palestinian actor and comedian Alaa Shehada extends his Fringe First-winning one-man show The Bridge with three further performances at Assembly George Square Studios.
The Bridge, which won a Fringe First Award at this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe, is adding three more performances before its run ends. The extra dates are Thursday 28 to Saturday 30 August at 8pm, and the show moves to Assembly George Square Studios, Studio Two, having opened for a limited run at Assembly Roxy.
The one-man show is written and performed by Palestinian artist Alaa Shehada, and tells the story of the single route by which Palestinians in the West Bank can reach the outside world. It is produced by the Palestine Comedy Club, a company set up to give Palestinian artists a platform to tell their own stories on stage and screen.
The award is Shehada's second in as many years: he took a Fringe First in 2025 for The Horse of Jenin. The prize recognises outstanding new work at the Fringe, and the additional dates follow both the win and strong audience demand.
The Bridge is co-written and directed by Sam Beale, with movement direction by Micaela Miranda, music and sound design by Julius Pollux Rothlaender and lighting design by Lily Dawford. It is produced by Palestine Comedy Club and Qasim Salam.
The running time is 80 minutes, the show is performed in English, and the age guidance is 12+ with warnings for strong language and for distressing or potentially triggering themes.
