The first production photographs of the company playing The Phantom of the Opera’s fortieth birthday season have been released, with Jordan Donica behind the mask and Beatrice Penny-Touré as Christine Daaé.
New production photographs have been released of the company now playing The Phantom of the Opera at His Majesty’s Theatre. They are the first pictures of the birthday season assembled for the musical’s fortieth year in the West End, and they were taken by Johan Persson.
Jordan Donica is photographed masked and mid-phrase among the candles, Beatrice Penny-Touré at his side as Christine Daaé. The rest of the set takes in the masked company on the Opera House staircase, the elephant and the full chorus in Hannibal, and single studies of Rhys Whitfield as Raoul, Sierra Boggess as Carlotta, Joanna Riding as Madame Giry, and Joseph Millson and Ian Pirie as the opera house’s two harried managers.
The company photographed here plays together until Saturday 21 November 2026. Individual contracts run further: Donica is the Phantom into spring 2027, Penny-Touré plays Christine to Saturday 24 July 2027, and Matt Bateman as Ubaldo Piangi and Millie Lyon as Meg Giry stay to the same date. Colleen Rose Curran continues to play Christine at certain performances.
The anniversary itself falls on Friday 9 October, when a single gala performance marks four decades at the address, with alumni from across the forty years joining the current company for the curtain call. Proceeds from that night are being matched by the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation and the Mackintosh Foundation to launch the Phantom 40th Scholarship Programme, which will fund training at UK performing arts schools and opens for applications for the 2027-28 academic year. Penny-Touré is herself a former Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation scholar.
Performances run Monday to Saturday at 7.30pm, with matinees at 2.30pm on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Phantom of the Opera is booking now at His Majesty’s Theatre, the address it opened at on 9 October 1986 and has never left.
