Dean John-Wilson returns to Wild About You as Thomas, and Daniel George-Wright takes the last place in the ensemble, completing the company for the new musical's first full staging at the Charing Cross Theatre in January.
Dean John-Wilson will play Thomas in Wild About You, a part he has already sung: he performed numbers from the musical at MusicalCon in 2025. Daniel George-Wright joins as the final male member of the ensemble, and with the two of them signed the cast for the show's first fully staged production at the Charing Cross Theatre is now complete.
John-Wilson, whose stage work includes Aladdin, Death Note in Concert and Your Lie in April, was most recently in Mirrored Monet. George-Wright's credits take in Waitress, The Book of Mormon, The Phantom of the Opera and The Time Traveller's Wife.
They complete a company led by Jodie Steele as Olivia, Stewart Clarke as Michael and Alfie Friedman as Billy, whose casting we reported at the start of October. Danielle Steers plays Jess and Bea Ward plays Scoot, with Cassandra McCowan in the female ensemble.
The story opens on Billy's high school graduation day. At the party he comes across a trunk of letters his late mother wrote to him, though he grew up being told she had left him when he was a child. With his best friend Scoot beside him, he sets out to find out who she really was, and what she might tell him about where his own life is heading.
Chilina Kennedy wrote the music and lyrics and worked with Dani Stoller on the book. The score pulls from contemporary folk, pop, rock, country-pop and soul. Kristin Hanggi directs, with Daniel Edmonds as music supervisor, orchestrator and arranger, Brian Spector as producer and Caitlin McNeilage as associate producer. More of the creative team will be named later.
The production is presented by Keaka Productions LLC and Steven M. Levy for Charing Cross Theatre Productions Limited, with Eric McCormack, Michael Scott and Second Set LLC. Wild About You runs at the Charing Cross Theatre from Monday 18 January to Saturday 10 April 2027, with press night on Tuesday 26 January 2027.
