This brand-new musical, making its world premiere as a fully staged production at Charing Cross Theatre, is an emotional journey about identity, loss, and the love that echoes through generations.

On the day of his high school graduation, Billy — young, restless, unsure of his place in the world — discovers a trunk of letters written to him by his late mother. She'd always been described as someone who abandoned him. But the letters tell a different story. With his best friend Scoot by his side, Billy sets off to uncover the truth — and finds that the woman he never knew may hold the key to who he truly is.

The score is something special. Drawing on the lyrical worlds of Joni Mitchell and Carole King, and the generations of songwriters they inspired, the music spans nouveau-folk, pop, country-pop and soul — earworm melodies you'll leave humming, songs that feel like they've always existed. The show's central idea — "love is what we leave behind" — is woven into every note.
