Jamie Glover, whose credits include The Homecoming, directs Shakespeare's comedy for Sheffield Theatres. Mathew Horne, best known from the television sitcom Gavin & Stacey, takes the role of the steward Malvolio.
The play is the second half of the Crucible's Shakespeare double bill. Horne is joined by the company that has just finished King Lear on the same stage, a production directed by Titas Halder with Ian McDiarmid (Star Wars) in the title role. The company was first pictured in rehearsal images last month.
Bebe Sanders plays Viola and Harry Redding plays her twin, Sebastian. Fode Simbo is Orsino and Justina Kehinde is Olivia. The comic household is led by Milo Twomey as Sir Toby Belch, with Katie Wimpenny as Maria, James Chetwood as Sir Andrew Aguecheek and Jay Saighal as Fabian. David Birrell plays Feste.
The remaining roles go to Mark Holgate (Antonio), Max Revell (Curio), Christopher Jordan (Priest, Valentine and Second Officer), Sachin K Sharma (Sea Captain and First Officer) and actor-musician Hazel Monaghan. Two musicians play on stage: Nicholas Hann on clarinet and bass clarinet, and Evie Hilyer-Ziegler on violin.
Amanda Stoodley designs the set and costumes, with lighting by Richard Howell and sound by Raffaela Pancucci. Genevieve Dawson is composer and musical director, and Charlotte Broom is movement director. Casting is by Matilda James. Vicky Moran is associate director, Barbara Houseman voice and text coach and Marc Small assistant director.
Four access performances are scheduled: captioned on Thursday 22 October at 7.15pm, relaxed on Wednesday 28 October at 2pm, signed on Friday 30 October at 7.15pm and audio described on the closing Saturday, 31 October, at 2pm. Tickets are sold by Sheffield Theatres.
