On Your Bike Baffo! brings its UK tour to Jackson’s Lane on 4 October

On Your Bike Baffo! arrives at Jackson’s Lane on Sunday 4 October 2026, and does the whole thing twice. The first performance is at 11am, the second at 2pm, and each runs 45 minutes. It is made for children aged 3-8 and the adults who bring them.

The show comes from OH! Productions, the award-winning children’s theatre company whose new family show set out on a UK tour in September. That tour runs to the middle of November.

Baffo is a clown in full cycling kit with one job: get on his bike and finish a very important ride. The difficulty is that he is not sure where the bike is. What he has instead is a box marked with a picture of a bicycle, and every object that comes out of it sends him off on a fresh tangent. Piece by piece he assembles a bicycle of his own invention, before the audience helps him spot the answer that was in front of him from the start.

The notices from the road are good. North West End gave it five stars and called it “a scintillatingly silly spectacle”. London Born & Bred made it four and found it “Energetic, chaotic and full of laughs”. On In London reported “A joyful, silly show that had my four-year-old thoroughly entertained”.

The piece was devised with its audience rather than for it. Creator Oliver Harrison took Baffo into primary schools from the earliest stages of the work, and the children there became collaborators: their ideas and their reactions shaped the comic set pieces and the storyline, and the finished show deliberately leaves room for whatever a given audience does with it. Hundreds of children contributed in all.

“Laughter and joy is a currency that is incredibly valuable,” Harrison says. “Every audience is different, and Baffo is always listening. The children aren’t simply watching the show; they’re helping to create it.”

The score is played live in the room by Tom Penn, who composed it and who answers what Baffo does as he does it, so the music works as a second performer rather than as underscoring. Drew Cripps is credited as performer. Harrison took the premise from his own cycling and from teaching his daughters to ride.

Harrison founded the company in 2010 and trained at Italia Conti before developing his comic craft with Philippe Gaulier, Spymonkey, Dr Brown and Mick Barnfather, alongside years of street theatre with the Bureau of Silly Ideas. The company’s previous show, Signor Baffo, toured the UK and internationally, won the Best Kids and Family Award at Adelaide Fringe 2025 and was shortlisted for the Family Friendly Award at Brighton Fringe earlier this year.
