Rachel Barry, Jimena Larraguivel, Ashley Margolis and Ben Wiggins join Beverley Klein in Memoriam, running at Southwark Playhouse Borough from 22 October to 21 November 2026.
Tangram Theatre Company has announced the full cast for Memoriam, a new play by Noga Flaishon directed by Daniel Goldman. It runs at Southwark Playhouse Borough from 22 October to 21 November 2026, with press night on Monday 26 October 2026.
Beverley Klein, announced earlier, plays the grandmother Rivka. She was nominated for a 2025 Olivier Award for Fiddler on the Roof at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, and has played Fraulein Schneider in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club and was in the original cast of Les Misérables.
She is joined by Rachel Barry as her granddaughter Rachel, Jimena Larraguivel as Becky, Ashley Margolis as David and Ben Wiggins as Chris. Barry’s credits include The White Factory at the Marylebone Theatre and Sherwood for the BBC; Larraguivel has appeared at Shakespeare’s Globe and the Royal Shakespeare Company; Margolis was in The Band’s Visit at the Donmar Warehouse; and Wiggins has played the National Theatre and appeared in The Witcher and You.
The play is set in a near future where a technology company can extract and package people’s memories and sell them on as immersive VR experiences. Rachel buys for that company. When her grandmother becomes the last living Holocaust survivor, the case for preserving her memories and the case for exploiting them turn out to be the same case, and the family has to decide who owns a life once it has been recorded.
Memoriam was one of five plays chosen from 3,000 submissions for the Royal Court Theatre’s Open Submissions Festival in 2025, where it had a staged reading. It was shortlisted for the Papatango Playwriting Prize, longlisted for the Verity Bargate Award in 2024, and was runner up in the Jewish Playwrights Prize 2025, which led to its world premiere at Main Street Theatre in Houston. This is its London premiere.
