Matthew Bourne's Cinderella dances under a Spitfire at IWM London as rehearsals begin

Katrina Lyndon (Cinderella) and Reece Causton (Harry the Pilot) beneath the Spitfire at IWM London. Photo by Craig Sugden Katrina Lyndon and Reece Causton have taken Matthew Bourne's Cinderella into the atrium of IWM London for a new photograph, released as rehearsals start for the production's 30th anniversary UK tour.

A white ballgown caught mid-swirl, an RAF uniform, and a Spitfire suspended overhead. The new image from Matthew Bourne's Cinderella was shot by Craig Sugden in the main hall at IWM London, with Lyndon as Cinderella leaning back into the arms of Causton as Harry the Pilot.

The aircraft is more than a backdrop. Matthew Bourne sets his version of the fairytale in London during the Second World War, where a chance encounter gives Cinderella a single magical night with a young RAF pilot before the Blitz drives them apart. Imperial War Museums are the official partner of the production.

Rehearsals are now under way for the New Adventures revival. Lyndon shares the title role with Hannah Kremer, and Causton alternates as Harry with Rory Macleod, as set out when the full tour company was announced in September.

The tour opens in the South West in November and reaches London for Christmas:

  • From 16 November 2026: Theatre Royal Plymouth
  • From 24 November 2026: Lowry, Salford
  • 1 December 2026 - 17 January 2027: Sadler's Wells, London

After the Sadler's Wells season the production moves on to 14 more venues in 2027, visiting Milton Keynes, Woking, Birmingham, Liverpool, Hull, Nottingham, Southampton, Cardiff, Canterbury, Bradford, Norwich, Glasgow, Newcastle and Edinburgh.

Tickets for the London Christmas run are on the Matthew Bourne's Cinderella show page.
