Kimberly Akimbo has added a week to its run at Hampstead Theatre. The European premiere now closes on Saturday 14 November 2026. Tickets for the new week go on sale at 12 noon on Tuesday 13 October.

The theatre credits the extension to an enthusiastic response from audiences and critics alike. What the reviewers made of it is gathered in our review roundup.

Michael Longhurst directs the musical by David Lindsay-Abaire and Jeanine Tesori, which took five Tony Awards in 2023, among them Best Musical, Best Original Score and Best Book of a Musical. Four-time Olivier Award winner Maria Friedman plays Kimberly Levaco, a teenager with a rare genetic condition that makes her age four times faster than others her age.

Friedman leads a company with Alice Fearn as Debra, Peter Hannah as Buddy Levaco, Gilli Jones as Seth Weetis and Niamh Perry as Pattie Levaco. Sara Hajizadeh, Ronav Jain, Robin Simões da Silva and Aviva Tulley complete the cast, with Rachel Flynn and Daniel Walford as swings.

Soutra Gilmour designs, and Nigel Lilley is musical supervisor and musical director. Choreography is by Matt Cole, lighting by Jack Knowles, sound by Paul Groothuis and video by Luke Halls. Casting is by Anna Cooper CDG.

Kimberly Akimbo is booking now at Hampstead Theatre on Eton Avenue, Swiss Cottage.
