Hadestown adds five more venues to its 2027 UK and Ireland tour

Five more venues have been added to the first UK and Ireland tour of Hadestown, and the 2027 itinerary now runs from February to November. Tickets for all five go on sale on 2 October.

The additions are Cliffs Pavilion, Southend (25-29 May), Royal & Derngate Theatre, Northampton (28 September - 2 October), New Victoria Theatre, Woking (12-16 October), New Theatre, Oxford (19-23 October), and New Wimbledon Theatre (16-20 November). All five are 2027 dates, and the Wimbledon week now closes the tour.

The tour opens at Curve Theatre, Leicester on 19 February 2027, and every other announced week is already on sale. A Dublin engagement is confirmed but its dates are still to come. Casting and the full creative team are to be announced.

The West End production continues at the Lyric Theatre, now in its third year, and released photographs of its current company this month. The show first played London at the National Theatre in 2018.

Anaïs Mitchell wrote the music, lyrics and book, pulling on indie folk, pop, blues and New Orleans jazz. She began Hadestown as her own indie theatre project and album, then built it into a stage musical with director Rachel Chavkin. It braids two myths into one journey to the underworld and back: the young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and the long marriage of Hades and Persephone.

The production won eight Tony Awards on Broadway, among them Best Musical, and a Grammy for Best Musical Theatre Album. Its Original Broadway Cast Recording has been certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America and has drawn close to a billion streams.

The UK and Ireland tour is produced by Mara Isaacs, Dale Franzen, Hunter Arnold and Tom Kirdahy. Full tour information is at tour.hadestown.com.
