Speakerphone Productions and Soho Theatre have released the first production photographs of HAM, Hotter Project’s vegan hijacking of Hamlet, six days before it opens on Dean Street.
The first production photographs of HAM have been released, six days before Hotter Project’s Edinburgh hit begins its London run. They are the first look at the staging since the transfer was announced in August, and a trailer has gone out alongside them.
Jonny Ruff’s pictures show Mary Higgins as Hamlet in a slashed doublet, white sports socks and black loafers, and Ell Potter as Gertrude in a ruff the size of a dinner plate, both of them stranded in front of drapes the colour of cured meat. A supermarket pack of sausages does a fair amount of the dramatic work.
The Soho Theatre run follows a Fringe season that took five stars from The Telegraph and The Herald, four from The Guardian, WhatsOnStage and The Stage, and a Gold Edinburgh Festival Fringe Award. It opens on Tuesday 29 September 2026 and plays to Saturday 31 October 2026, with the press performance on Friday 2 October.
HAM is created and performed by Mary Higgins and Ell Potter, and directed by Ursula Martinez. Set and costume design is by Rūta Irbīte, lighting design by David Doyle, sound design by Tom Foskett-Barnes and movement by Abbi Greenland. It is produced by Speakerphone Productions and Soho Theatre.
The production runs in the Upstairs space at Soho Theatre, 21 Dean Street. Performances are at 6.45pm, the show lasts 60 minutes, tickets are £15 and it is for ages 18 and over.
